Recently, software giant Microsoft has partnered with leading web solution provider GoDaddy to help small and medium enterprises as well as entrepreneurs to get their business online for Rs 99 a month, which is pretty low. As per the recent reports Rajiv Sodhi, Vice President and Managing Director of GoDaddy India stated that, “Now we want to help the small and medium businesses by helping them to bring their business online through ‘Get Online Today’ initiative. With this offering, interested businesses can have a website in the most affordable way”.
As a part of partnership between GoDaddy and Microsoft, customers will get the domain name as well as a support to build a website with the access to Microsoft’s Office 365 solution for Rs 99 a month. Still customers will have the liberty to choose among the popular domains such as; .com, .in, .net, .org, .biz, and more. Apart from all these facilities GoDaddy will provide technical support through 24X7 customer care to help users set up the website, which would be mobile phone-compatible as well. For any SMB cost and complexity are the two major issues, but with the partnership of GoDaddy and Microsoft, now SMBs will get the freedom from this issue and as well as challenges. As per the Son, “In present if someone want to get the website, so all they need to contact us and we will help them get one according to their needs within 30 minutes”.
GoDaddy will provide the web builder kit to its subscribers, so that they can design by posting content and multimedia. Now with Microsoft on board, customers will have an access to different solutions such as; Lync, contacts, professional e-mail, and calendar to their custom domain name as well as cloud storage. According to Meetul Patel, General Manager (SMS&P), Microsoft India, “Microsoft Office 365 is transformational for small businesses as it will allow them to easily access the same powerful tools that large companies use at an affordable price”. As per the recent study reports of Nasscom and Frost & Sullivan, “Most of the SMBs are expecting to spend more than $18.5 billion (Rs 1.11 lakh crore) on information technology by FY18, driven by growing adoption of cloud and mobility solutions as compared to about $8.7 billion (Rs 47,200 crore) on IT in FY13”. In these $8.7 billion, hardware will absorb 45%, IT services (implementation, support and training) will absorb 40% and software licensing and software as a service (SaaS) will absorb rest 15%. These reports further said that SaaS adoption by SMBs in India will enhance the growth of CAGR of over 25% and is expected to reach $370 million (Rs 2,000 crore) by FY18.
